Ham and cheese sliders with brown sugar are completely irresistible. YUMMY!

If there’s one thing my family requests every Super Bowl Sunday, it’s ham and cheese sliders with brown sugar. The salty ham, melty cheese, sweet Hawaiian rolls, and buttery brown-sugar glaze make these little sandwiches completely irresistible.
These sandwiches are perfect for game day along with Turkey Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls, but they also make an easy lunch or weeknight dinner. I always make a big batch because they’re great fresh, just as delicious reheated and incredibly simple to throw together.

Tools
- Baking Dish
- Parchment Paper (optional)
- Knife
- Small Saucepan
- Pastry Brush

Ingredients
Before you head to the recipe card for exact measurements, here’s a quick look at what you’ll be using.
- Thin Sliced Deli Ham – I usually grab deli-sliced ham, but thicker slices or even leftover holiday ham work just as well.
- Sliced Deli Cheese – Swiss, Cheddar, and Pepper Jack are my go to cheeses.
- Sweet Hawaiian Rolls – These rolls taste amazing on their own, but once you turn them into tiny sandwiches? Oh, so good!
- Butter – This is the base for the brown sugar topping. Melted butter and sweet Hawaiian rolls are perfection on their own. Salted butter tastes especially good here.
- Brown Sugar – Adds that irresistible sweetness that pairs with salty ham.
- Worcestershire Sauce – A splash adds depth to the butter mixture.
- Everything But the Bagel Seasoning – Easy and flavorful addition that looks good sprinkled on top.
- Red Pepper Flakes – Sounds wild, but the tiny kick of heat pairs perfectly with the sweet brown sugar. Totally optional but highly recommended.
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the brown sugar, Worcestershire, Everything But the Bagel seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix until the sugar dissolves.

Step 3
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.

Step 4
Add a folded slice of ham to each roll.

Step 5
Evenly top with cheese slices.

Step 6
Place the top half of the rolls back on. Give the warm mixture a good stir, then brush it generously over the tops of the sliders.
Step 7
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 8
Remove the foil and bake another 10 minutes, or until the tops are lightly browned. Serve warm!
Tips for the best ham and cheese sliders with brown sugar
- If you’re not a fan of spice, leave out the red pepper flakes. If you love the heat, add a little more, entirely up to you.
- Assemble the sliders earlier in the day and bake right before serving.
Variations
- Deli-sliced, thick-cut, Black Forest, or honey ham all work great.
- Provolone, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Pepper Jack, or any good melting cheese can be used.

Storage and Reheating
- Store in an airtight container for up to four days.
- For best reheating results, wrap in foil and reheat in the oven at 325° F, for approximately 10 minutes or until heated through.
What To Serve With Ham And Cheese Sliders With BrowN SUGAR
- Roasted Baby Red Potatoes - Roasted potatoes are an easy side dish to pair with these sliders. They are crispy on the outside and oh so tender on the inside.
- Baked Macaroni And Cheese With Velveeta - A family favorite that goes with practically any meal. Who doesn't love cheesy goodness in a side dish.
