- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan on low heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together.
- Once the butter has melted and the brown sugar has dissolved, stir in the heavy cream, milk, and vanilla.
- Bring just to a simmer, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and use immediately, or cool and store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
- Whole milk is best in this coffee creamer recipe.
- If using unsalted butter, add 1/8 teaspoon salt.
- Homemade vanilla extract adds incredible flavor if you have it on hand.
