Description
With just a few ingredients, you can have a perfectly crafted, flavorful Bourbon sour cocktail that will never go out of style. This cocktail is sure to impress at a party, but is simple enough to enjoy at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
For the simple syrup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a small saucepan on low heat, mix the brown sugar and water. Stir until the brown sugar has completely dissolved into the water. Remove from heat.
- Add the Bourbon, lemon juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice to a cocktail shaker.
- Shake it up then strain into a rocks glass and add fresh ice to top the glass.
- Garnish with cherries and orange slices if desired.
Notes
- Use a Bourbon that you would drink on its own. You don't have to break the bank, but don't go for the bottom shelf.
- Fresh squeezed juice is by far the best, but bottled juice can be used in a pinch.
- Adjust the simple syrup to taste. For a sweeter cocktail, add more. For a tarter Bourbon sour, decrease the amount of syrup.
- You can change up the ratios of the lemon juice and lime juice. A higher ratio of lemon juice keeps this as a more traditional sour cocktail.
- Prep Time: 5 minures
